The MKULTRA Facebook Fan Page is now live…In an effort to better link with you, the loyal viewer, I’m providing another means of engagement with you all…And I’m even taking your ideas on shoots that you’d like to see me put my own special spin on…Hoping that you’ll like and engage with me there - and here…
I wanted to drop a quick note of thanks and reassurance to you all…For the phone calls and emails expressing worry and concern, I thank you and say unequivocally, that the Experiment continues apace, albeit with a heavy heart…
For those that do not know, the spectre of death has been hovering over members of my extended family of late.
A very close friend died quite unexpectedly, at an untimely 36 years of age, after a routine outpatient knee-surgery; a second-cousin passed two weeks ago, after a short illness; and most recently the grandparent (more like mother) of another very close friend succumbed to a massive infection on Mother’s Day (of all days), and was laid to final rest on Saturday. All of these passings have shaken me and those I love and care for, requiring me to put my life on hold to be a family member, friend, confidant and simply a shoulder to cry on.
It’s also shaken my interpretation of my own mortality.
I’m even more certain now that life is meant to be lived on one’s own terms doing what one feels is best for their own sanity and happiness. Do no harm, first, but live your life in your own way, is a close second. So, as I mourn and help others mourn, I’m reminded of why I started this blog to begin with: to celebrate the beauty that is the human body and the joy that is sexual expression, two very good reasons to live.
When I return from this hiatus, expect to see boundaries pushed and even greater expression of the element of sacred sensuality…
In the meantime, again, I thank everyone whose words of encouragement and concern have helped guide me through this dark period I’ve had to endure.
i love this site - where have you been all of my online life. question, it's simple, i fancy myself an amateur photographer but my muses are few and far in between. do u personally know the people u shoot or do u advertise for models? i need to increase my "workforce" any suggestions?
Thank you very much for enjoying what I’m putting out. I appreciate your support.
My muses are not models. They are, by and large, women that I know, or meet through associates and friends. A good number are paying clients actually, who agree to release certain images to the public.
I do maintain ways for interested women to volunteer to shoot or to commission me for a paid shoot. I’ve come to realize that many women seek opportunities to reaffirm their own self-confidence and sexuality. My work attempts celebrates the individual, unique beauty and sensuality and that each woman exudes.
If you tailor your images to reflect more than just the exterior beauty or desirability of the woman, you’ll find them approaching you to become a member of your “workforce.”
Anyone can take a photo of a naked woman. But can you create a work of art from that bare form? That’s your real task…
So, my Tumblr experience is teaching me that many women are (not so) secretly interested in having beautiful, (sometimes not so) tasteful nude images captured, either solo, or with someone else.
I’m considering offering a spring/summer shoot special. Pricing is undetermined but will be based, in part, by interest in the offer. Any interested parties can reach me via “ask” or email: vision[at]mkultraexperiment.com (replace [at] with @).
I truly love your work. I'm an inspired, amateur photographer and I hope soon I can capture the beauty of Women of Color (nude, clothed or otherwise), like you do. Your lighting is what I appreciate most.
Thank you very much! I’m honored by your compliments, and I proud that my work plays some role in inspiring you to create your own works of art from the most beautiful women on the planet.
As for lighting, I love to light. I love to light. I love to light.
I’m 100% self-taught, so I’ve spent hundreds of hours experimenting and observing what various types of light do to different skin textures and body types. And that’s the best piece of (unsolicited) advice I can give you: play with your lighting; experiment.
Always be looking for the unusual. And don’t shy away from shadows. Remember, the light always will create a shadow somewhere in the image, and sometimes the shadow becomes the most interesting part of the image.
Keep shooting…I’m looking forward to seeing what you create…
I love your pictures! I really want to get some pictures like what you make. I'm definitely going to do it. well, I'm thinking about when I want to do it. I still gotta get my body right.
And how do you deal with certain "reactions" when you shoot either you or the model getting aroused....
Thank you for taking time to enjoy my work! I’m honored…
Some advice: don’t worry so much about your body being right, as much as your mind. Your body is less a concern than your belief in your own sexuality and sensuality, as well as your confidence. Yes, feel comfortable with your physicality; but even if you have the “perfect” body, if your mind isn’t right, you’ll not view your shoot as a “success.”
As far as “reactions,” let’s get rid of the euphemisms. The model getting aroused/wet is often a desired outcome; losing her inhibition in front of the camera is, in most cases (though not always), what the woman wants. That’s what she’s paying for, often. When she’s in her “zone,” that’s usually when the images are their best. As far me getting hard, thats an “occupational hazard” that I’ve learned to deal with through years of experience shooting nudes. I spend most of my days with utterly beautiful women — of all shapes and sizes, clothed and unclothed — in front of my cameras, so there’s a certain amount of ‘desensitization’ that occurs. In other words, you get used to seeing nudity and…certain behaviors…and it doesn’t faze you as much. It’s another day at the office, so to speak.
Besides, this is a not just a hobby for me: it’s a career, so maintaining decorum and composure is a MUST if I want to continue to be respected as a professional.
i appreciate all of the contours, complexions, curves, & copulate-like poses of ur models. many prayers that u continue to top yourself.
Thank you very much for your patronage!!
I enjoy working with people that represent both, the diversity of the diaspora, and differing sexual tastes and interests. And one of the benefits of working with “non-models” is that they tend to be more willing to express themselves fully. Things take on an organic quality which results in some unexpected, unplanned brilliance.
I appreciate and receive your prayers! In return, I pray that you continue to visit, that you comment and suggest, and most of all, that you enjoy what I present.
love your blog too, can't wait to see more pics =)
Thank you for the love! I appreciate it greatly…
There are more coming…I take my time selecting images that resonate with some part of what I’m trying to do, and yeah, that takes a minute sometimes. But I hope the results are worth the wait and that each image sparks something within you.
